Tucked up close to the foothills of the Himalaya, Gulmarg was well known to the British for its fine summer atmosphere. Meaning the Meadow of Flowers, Gulmarg has since became a hot spot for freeride skiers with its lift to 4000 meters.

Skiing off the top Gondola at 4000 meters offers a stunning 1000 meter drop through a variety of wide couloirs and bowls. From the mid-station at 3000 meters, one can ski through the lower pine forests through the ancient village of Drang and down to Tanmarg. Skiing the “Paper Trees” offers a magical touch to an already enchanting experience. Life in Gulmarg is certainly one of the reasons for coming.
